Newest Limited Edition: Tácnbora – Oloroso Hogshead Finish 

Tácnbora has always been a whisky with more stories to tell. Our standard bearer began with a blend of Scottish and Irish whiskies, brought together in Northumberland, and each Limited Edition explores what happens when we give that blend time in different wood. Through playing with the wood, we discover new possibilities within the whisky, allowing each release to tell its own story.

For this latest chapter, Tacnbora has been finished for 9 months in an Oloroso Hogshead cask. Oloroso already forms part of the original Tácnbora blend's maturation story, alongside ex-bourbon and virgin American oak. Returning to this wood for a dedicated finish gives us the opportunity to explore its influence further, revealing a different balance of fruit, sweetness and spice.

Meaning "standard bearer" in Old English, Tácnbora takes its name from the herald who announced the arrival of Northumbrian royalty. Bottled at 57.2% ABV, this latest Limited Edition continues its journey, carrying our heritage forward through our curiosity about whisky and wood.

Tasting Notes: 

Nose -  Chocolate, hazelnut, spice, cake mix and bran.

Palate -  Grapefruit, figs, almonds, cinder toffee and ginger.

Finish - Warm, with cedar, bitter cocoa, sweet mince pie and heather.
