Standing on the base of an 8th century stone cross, the 19th century lone long stone commands panoramic views from the crest of Barcombe Hill. It marks a rich history of iron age settlements, Roman quarries for the creation of Vindolanda Fort and centuries of mining. Now under a blanket of heather and bracken only keen eyes will search out the Roman soldiers’ graffiti. Long Stone Lager is a refreshing Czech style pilsner brewed with Saaz hops giving a delicate earthy, herbal and spicy aroma
