Meet Liquid Sunshine — a beautifully named expression from Ad Gefrin, Northumberland's first ever whisky distillery, based in the market town of Wooler. Part of the landmark first release of single malt whisky from the region, this is a spirit steeped in local pride and craftsmanship.
Matured in an ex-bourbon cask, Liquid Sunshine delivers the classic hallmarks of American oak maturation: vanilla sweetness, gentle warmth, and a bright, approachable character that lives up to its name.
Tasting notes: Light golden in colour with notes of vanilla, honey, and toasted oak. A smooth, warming finish with a touch of citrus — the kind of dram that feels like a ray of Northumbrian sunshine in a glass.
